One of the things I admire about Jobert is his passion for weaving stories and creating music. Well, actually, he’s passionate about everything he does. When he has an idea, he does not sit on it; he works his way through it. So it’s not surprising that he’s about to release another song just a few months after entertaining Kagay-anons with “Patintero”.
“With You” is Jobert’s love letter set to song. It’s not really new because he wrote it when he was still in college, around 2018. But it’s a love letter for anyone—everyone can easily relate with it. It’s a timeless message of love.
Jobert shares that, “I felt it was finally the right time to share it because listeners deserve to hear it. This song isn’t just for me; it’s for them to feel, relate, and maybe even remember a special moment in their own lives, sharing it with someone they care about.”
A Love Letter From a Passionate Artist
This new love letter from Jobert, I believe, is a testament of how talented he is. The past year has been quite a journey for him. A lot of doors opened for him—opportunities to share his music, his passion for creation, and his love for life. “Since releasing Patintero, my music career has reached a whole new level. “One of my most memorable achievements last year was traveling to different cities to perform and share my original songs. A standout moment was when I went to Davao after being selected as a featured artist for the XXIV FILSCAP event. It’s been amazing to be recognized as an acoustic artist and songwriter, and even more fulfilling to know that my music inspires others.”
Jobert’s talent for music is undeniable. He gives his all in everything he creates, in every story he tells. When writing a song, he “follows the feeling and let’s inspiration lead the way”. He doesn’t have a strict formula or a process. Most of the time, he starts with a chord progression and a melody and then allows his imagination to take over. That’s when the words rush in. Other times, he starts with the lyrics and allow the melody to move around them and create a story. Regardless of how he does it, Jobert does everything with passion. I saw this when we worked together on a Christmas project last year. He gave his heart and soul to the song.
Aside from making music, Jobert is also fond of his family. His family is his inspiration. He covers his family with love, and this is evident in the words he weaves when creating a song. He tells of love stories that anyone can relate with because he was raised in a family rich in love. This is carried over to the stories he writes and the songs he sings. Deep inside, however, he’s a simple and gentle soul who loves connecting with people. “I’m a brother, a son, and a believer, and those roles shape who I am every day. I like to think that the same heart I bring to my music is the
same heart I bring to the people around me.“
Every love letter, every song that Jobert writes is an extension of his passion for love and life.

Jobert describes “With You” as “a story about promising someone special that they are the only one you love. It’s about being there through everything, the good days and the challenging ones, and keeping your promises no matter what. This song was inspired by those moments when you just want someone to feel safe, cherished, and truly loved.” The line “in trials, I’ll sing even if I’m out of tune”, according to him, is like saying, “love is about showing up even when it’s not perfect”. As for the rest of the song, you’ll just have to wait when it’s out. The good news, however, is that you do not have to wait long.
