McKace is one of the freshest talents in the CDO music scene. His music is unique. His style is his own. His songs reflect his great love for his craft.
Mckace started singing to large audiences in his elementary years. He joined singing competitions and performed in various school programs. He spent a lot of time listening to different songs. He also loves dancing and watches a lot of dance performances.
He developed and nurtured his dancing skills in high school and eventually became a choreographer. And this was also when he started writing songs, inspired by the other artists he watched and listened to.
Mckace is a passionate artist, one of the most passionate that I know. His goals are all focused on his music, his talents. He’s passionate about everything that he does, including taking care and protecting his family and the special people in his life. This is probably why he is focused on following the path that he has set for himself: to reach his goal as an artist.
Although he wasn’t able to pursue his college education, Mckace didn’t have to wait long to pursue his dream of becoming a full-fledged artist. He soon started writing songs, singing in various bars, and DJ-ing. He also joined music competitions, such as battle of the bands, and even performed across Mindanao.

Like any passionate performer, Mckace also worked as a singer abroad, performing in hotels and bars in China. He didn’t stay long, though, because what he really wanted to do was work on his goal of becoming a music artist.
This year is Mckace’s breakthrough year because his dreams are finally starting to come true. His single, Booombah, is now up on Spotify (and other streaming platforms). It’s a catchy tune that anyone can sing along with and dance to.

Before listening to Booombah, let’s get to know Mckace a little better first. I was able to ask him some important questions, and here are his answers:
1. Have you always wanted to be a singer? How old were you when you first discovered you wanted to be one?
Yes, I have always known that I wanted to be a singer. I was in elementary when I started singing.
Among all of my talents, singing is definitely my favorite. But before I focused on being a singer, I was also a street dancer at 12 years old. Even then, I sometimes joined singing competitions, and at 18, I continued pursuing my career as a music artist.
2. What are your first memories, the most unforgettable ones, as a singer?
My first memory is the first stage I ever performed on: Starstruck at SM Uptown CDO. My very first audition wasn’t bad, even though I wasn’t lucky enough to win. What I liked back then was for people to pick me to win, because they said I could sing and dance at the same time. That’s why it’s memorable.
3. Have you had professional training? If you didn’t, what did you do (and continue to do) to hone your skills?
When I joined Dreamboard Artists here in CDO, our coach, Sir Donie Galigao, taught and helped me to sing properly, and how to manage my voice.
4. Who are the artists that you look up to? What about the artist who you believe influenced your music or artistry?
Many artists inspire me, especially those who have been in the music industry for a long time. But it’s not just singers; I also look up to rappers, especially from Ex Battalion and OC Dawgs. They’re the ones who really help me bring my work to life.
5. Please tell us about your single Booombah. What’s the story behind it?
Booombah is a reggaeton or Latin type of music. I’ve always wanted to make a song that I can play while I’m DJ-ing, and music that people can dance to. So I decided to write Booombah. The song is for people who love to dance, for everyone, because dancing isn’t just for those who are good at it.
6. How long have you been writing/composing songs? What inspires you to write?
I started writing songs in 2018, even though I didn’t have any equipment back then and didn’t know how to make a song. But I really wanted to create a song, so I worked hard and gradually learned the process. Now I can make songs, although my equipment is still not sufficient. Because of my dreams and the artists who inspire me, they are the reason I strive to fulfill my dream of becoming like them, or better.
7. What genre or type of songs do you prefer or like to perform? Is there a specific reason for your choice?
I love R&B, pop, slow rock, hip-hop, and rap. But when I have gigs, I sing different genres. Sometimes, I even sing songs in other languages.
8. Why should people, especially Kagay-anons, support your music?
Kagay-anons should support my music because I know that they can relate to my songs. As far as I know, Kagay-anons have a large audience for rap and trap songs, and especially contemporary R&B tracks. So I know some people will appreciate my songs..
9. What is your ultimate goal as a performer?
My ultimate goal is to become one of the most recognized artists in the country–to showcase and make my songs heard around the world. And, of course, to be an inspiration and to help aspiring artists.
10. What advice can you give young artists like you who want to pursue their artistic goals?
All I can say is no matter how hard life gets, never think that you can’t achieve your dreams. Just keep making songs, and the time will come when we’ll achieve our dreams.

If you’re looking for good music and an artist with a good heart and passion that can turn dreams into reality, you should put Mckace on top of your list. And you can start by streaming and listening to Booombah on Spotify.
