The Metropolitan Kagay-an Orchestra, CDO’s premier homegrown orchestra, will conduct a string workshop next month.
Dubbed “Kwerdas: A Summer String Workshop”, it will focus on the foundations of string and ensemble playing and is open to violin and viola players. The multimethod learning workshop will help participants develop their musicianship through a variety of approaches. They’re guaranteed to enjoy an immersive musical experience that will help them grow as musicians and develop or elevate their ensemble playing skills.
Participants will perform in a recital at the end of the workshop, and each one of them will receive a certificate of participation as well. But the biggest perk of joining Kwerdas is the free membership to the Metropolitan Kagay-an Orchestra – no need to audition!

The Metropolitan Kagay-an Orchestra has performed in various venues, including Liceo de Cagayan University’s Rodelsa Hall, Xavier University Little Theater, the CDO Amphitheater, and the Limketkai Mall Atrium. They had a Christmas concert in December 2024 dubbed “Maayong Pasko, Tagbalay” at Rodesla Hall and have performed several times for the CDO Toy Show. The MKO is set to stage a major concert in November this year. If you join the workshop, you just might be able to join them in one of their performances.
