One of JCI Kagayhaan Gold’s flagship programs, Green is Gold, is an environmental campaign project that aims to bring to light many environmental concerns in the city, country, and the world. This program already won and was recognized by JCI Philippines, through the JCI Area 5 Agung Awards held recently in Pagadian City, as Best Environmental Program (Mindanao).
This year, Green is Gold is back and will focus on young, brilliant minds and their projects, developments, research, and experiments that help address the many facets of environmental issues hounding our world.
With the support of Stargate Dream Vacation Resort, SM Downtown Premier, and the Cagayan de Oro City Government through the City Local Environment and Natural Resources (CLENRO), and other partners, JCI-KG hopes to bring innovators and changemakers to this event, which is expected to create an impact in advancing the concerns of the city and region to the youth and the general public.
The objectives of Green is Gold: EnFair 2017 are as follows:
- Create a venue to gather empowered individuals to share knowledge and transfer technologies that help address environmental issues and hopefully provide solutions to these problems.
- Provide opportunities for individuals to engage themselves in nation building through knowledge sharing and innovation.
- Raise awareness and remind the youth and the general public as a whole to become more proactive and involved in community concerns.
- Partner with private and public entities with shared goals and aspirations in helping change the world for the better.
The event will be graced by some of the Miss Earth International contestants from different countries. Ms. Ainara de Santamaria (Spain), Ms. Angele Kossinda (Cameroon), Ms. Begimai Nazarova (Kyrgyztan), Ms. Viktoria Viczian (Hungary), Ms. Juliana Franco (Colombia), and Ms. Elsa Antoun (Lebanon), will grace this meaningful event with their presence in support of JCI-KG’s Green is Gold Students’ Environmental Fair.
