The biggest and most exciting toy convention in Mindanao is happening today at the Limketkai Center Rotunda. CDO Toy Show, which started four years ago, is organized by CDO ToyZone, a toys/hobbies/collectors group with members from various parts of Misamis Oriental and Northern Mindanao. The event showcases the members’ diverse collections of toys, figures, and other hobbies.
Aside from the displays, the toy convention will also feature activities like interactive games, a cosplay competition, and a special edition trivia event organized by Geek Wars.
For the cosplay competition, pre-registration will be later today, November 10, at the toy convention venue. Participants are not required to wear their costume – or any costume – when they pre-register. Likewise, a cosplay gathering is scheduled on the first day of the toy convention. Cosplay competition day is Sunday, November 11. This is also when the main registration will be facilitated.

For the Geek Wars trivia event, all you need to do is form a group of three to five members, think of a fun/witty/cool team name, and get ready to answer as many trivia questions as you can. The three teams with the highest scores will win special prizes from Affinity Games. Geek Wars at CDO Toy Show is set to start at 4pm on November 10.
An interesting addition to the list of special features is a life-sized statue gallery, the first of its kind in CDO Toy Show history.
Continuing Advocacy
This year, CDO Toy Show embraces the theme “Project Superhero”. The focus is not just on our favorite superheroes, though, but on real-life superheroes as well. This is why the organizers are continuing the advocacy that they started four years ago. This year’s outreach program is for the less fortunate children, who will be given gifts in addition to food and school supplies. It will be an advance Christmas party of sorts.
