It was a scene straight out of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” when the third installment of Gil Macaibay’s Strike a Pose unfolded at the Centrio Garden last May 28. There were flowers and greens everywhere. It was like you were transported to Titania’s (the queen of fairies) home.
The setting was perfect as the show featured Macaibay’s summer collection, which featured Latin and Spanish influences. CDO’s Prince of Haute Couture combined classic and contemporary artistry. The collection showed a lot of attractive prints, light materials, and lively colors, perfect for the rainy weather that afternoon.
Before the graduates of the Strike a Pose 3 workshop sashayed and strutted Macaibay’s creations, model and Dolce Amore actor Laurence Mossman opened the show with “The Prayer”. Special performances by Kagay-anon artists Muriel Lomadilla (Pilipias Got Talent 3 finalist), Oreo Vamenta, Gerikha Amper (Tawag ng Tanghalan Mindanao representative), Arthur Nery, and other XCCA artists.
The audience was also treated to a video that featured Strike a Pose alumni and Glitterati models Jamie Joy Bantigue, Maxine Monasterio, and Paola Michelle Pilapil.
First to enthrall the crowd with Macaibay’s colorful creations were the workshop graduates. Check out the fashionable masterpieces:
Macaibay’s Glitterati models also wowed the crowd.
This year’s Strike a Pose was an enchanting fashion experience. Here are some more photos from the show:
Before the grand finale, Kagay-anons were treated to special performances by Mossman and GMA 7 artist Karl Aquino.
Strike a Pose is Macaibay’s annual month-long model workshop. It has served as the stepping stone for many of CDO’s top models.
Congratulations to the new models and to CDO’s Prince of Haute Couture, Gil Macaibay III!
