The Liceo de Cagayan University Alumni Association (LDCUAA) made history last year when it held the university’s first-ever virtual alumni homecoming, Regresso Virtual. It was an evening filled with fun, virtual get-togethers, memories, and prizes. Tomorrow, February 26, LDCUAA will once again hold Regresso Virtual, the second wave of its virtual homecoming.
While it’s true that getting together virtually is a different feeling compared to actual or face-to-face homecomings, it is an opportunity worth preparing for. Yes, you can’t have the usual dance contests, fashion shows, and bonding with school and batchmates. But, it still eases the yearning to be with friends. It still allows you to connect with people who play important roles in your life.
Election of LDCUAA Board of Directors
Since the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow the Liceo U Alumni Association to hold the election of officers last year, the current board of directors decided to continue serving the alumni community without hesitation. From the start of the 2020 lockdown until early this year, the officers have been busy facilitating and joining one activity after another – with several changes, of course, because of the health and safety limits. The past two years (more or less) have actually been the most productive for the association.
With the easing of restrictions and the slight improvement in the general situation, the LDCUAA has decided to finally hold the election of officers. It will be the first activity of Regresso Virtual 2022. Alumni members are expected to cast their votes at the LDCU Civic Center beginning 9 am tomorrow.
The newly elected board of directors will then be introduced during the evening program, where the current board of directors will also be acknowledged and recognized for their commitment and dedication to the association’s core values and goals.

The afternoon activities will begin with a Thanksgiving Mass to be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Dev John R. Faborada. The online eucharistic celebration will be streamed over the LDCUAA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
After the Mass, fun online games and an intermission number by LDCU Arts & Design students will follow. The evening ceremonies will begin at 6 pm.
Streamed over Facebook and YouTube (and an audience with exclusive access to Zoom), the homecoming will highlight the Pasidungog Licean 2022 Most Outstanding Alumni Jubilarian Awards and the honoring of jubilarians. Other activities include:
- The Foodest Dance Challenge
- Tribute to Teachers
- Tribute to Frontliners
- Raffle (with cash, gadgets, and other essentials as prizes)
Regresso is more than just a “return” or a homecoming as it gathers Liceans together for a worthy cause: the raising of funds for the LDCUAA Scholarship Program, which has helped numerous students continue their education for years. The program hopes to keep helping students of Liceo alumni who want to study at Liceo U but do not have the financial means to do so.
Sponsored by Liceo U HS Batch 97, this year’s silver jubilarians, Regresso 2022 will be hosted by Joe Romantico. This year’s theme is “Bringing the World to Your Home.
